The Happy Halvorsons

Welcome to the hub for the Happy Halvorsons! We’re Rusty and Sabrina and we have a multitude of interests, hobbies, ideas, stories, and reviews that we want to share with you. We’re both radio hosts. Rusty’s on the air in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin. Sabrina’s on the air in California, Arizona, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. We live in North Dakota.

We met at the age of 40 in 2015. Sabrina lived in California and Rusty in North Dakota. We met in Phoenix, Arizona, where we were both covering the Commodity Classic annual convention.

We moved in together in 2017, and married in 2019. Sabrina already had two grown, amazing kids and Rusty was thrilled to now be a dad and never have had to change a diaper.

Our work as radio reporters sends us to a lot of places around the U.S. After we met in Phoenix, we courted in Washington D.C., San Antonio, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Kansas City, Missouri. We’ve since visited more than a dozen other states together for work and for fun. Sabrina writes about some in her travel blog From the Golden West. She also occasionally writes for the travel magazine RV Destinations.

We’re both agriculture reporters and since we enjoy the opportunity to work together, we started the podcast Ag on Tap. When we have a fun ag story to share, that’s where we post it.

Sabrina is also a best selling author. Upon the sound advice of a wise mentor, the Halvorsons started Wolford Press, so they could retain the rights to Sabrina’s work and eventually work with other authors.

We love sharing life together and having adventure after adventure. Our thoughts, experiences, and pictures from the adventures have been scattered across various social media accounts and webpages, and we finally realized it was time to have a hub where it can all come together.

We also realized that we try out a lot of products and have practical thoughts on them. It makes sense to start sharing those thoughts to help other people who are wondering about the same products. Our experiences will be shared here.
